Seawater is collected from the AIMS Cape Cleveland jetty, beach and creeks around the site monthly for analysis of dissolved inorganic nutrients, dissolved organic carbon, salinity and temperature. Salinity and temperature are recorded at the jetty only. The data allows long term and seasonal trending.

Collection of water quality data (turbidity, underwater PAR (light), salinity, temperature and depth) at five sites around Cleveland Bay off Townsville to monitor water quality in conjunction with Maintenance Dredging conducted by the Port of Townsville Limited.Equipment was deployed from September 2014 with monthly servicing and download of the data, water samples were also taken each month and analysed for TSS.The work was completed under a contract with the Port of Townsville Limited. Sampling equipment was located at five 'sensitive receptor' sites within Cleveland Bay (seagrass sites: western Cleveland Bay and Virago Shoals (off Palarenda), Coral Sites: Florence Bay, Geoffrey Bay and Picnic Bay, Magnetic Island) to monitor water quality in conjunction with the operation of maintenance dredging by the Port of Townsville Limited. Data collected every 10 minutes and downloaded on monthly sampling trips.
